The Power of Crystal Meth
~Anonymous Poet

I destroy home, I tear families apart
I take your children, and that's just a start
I'm more valued than diamonds, more precious than gold
The sorrow I bring is a sight to behold
If you need me, I'm easily found
I live all around you, in your school and in your town
I live with the rich and with the poor
I live just down the street or maybe next door
I'm made in a lab, but not like you think
I can even be made under your kitchen sink
I have many names, but there's one you'll know best
I'm sure you've heard of me, my name is "crystal meth"
My power is awesome, try me you'll see
But if you do, you may never break free
Just try me once, I might let you go
But if you try me twice, I am your soul
When I possess you, you'll steal and you'll lie
You'll do what you have to just to stay high
The crimes you'll commit for my narcotic charms
Will be worth the pleasures you'll feel in my arms
You'll lie to your mom and steal from you dad
When you see their tears, you won't even be sad
Just forget your morals and how you were raised
I'll be your conscience, I'll teach you my ways
I'll take everything from you, your looks and your pride
I'll always be with you, right by your side
I'll take and I'll take 'til you have no more to give
When I'm finished with you, you'll be lucky to live
If you try me, be warned, this is not a game
If I'm given a chance, I'll drive you insane
The nightmares I'll give you while you're lying in bed
The voices you'll hear from inside your head
The sweats, the shakes, the visions you'll see
I want you to know these gifts are from me
My power is awesome I've told you before
I can take your mother and make her a whore
I'll be your master, I'll be your slave
I'll even take you to your grave
By then it's too late, you'll know in your heart
That you are now mine, and we shall not part
You'll regret that you tried me—they always do
But you came to me, not I to you
You knew this would happen, many times you were told
But you challenged my power, you chose me to be bold
You could have told me "NO" then walked away
If you could live that over, now what would you say?
Now that you've met me, what will you do?
Will you try me or not, it's all up to you

Power Wears Pink
MindPenSoul

Two souls fell into the trap of looks can
be deceiving.
The beauty of nature and the home of
creatures that sing songs to wake you
at morning through chirping took your
breath away ~ it seemed just right of a
place to share family life and raise your
princess ~ Brooklyn.
Before you could enjoy, you were tortured
because of another being desperate.
And summer's supposed to be fun not
miserable.
There was an invasion of a stimulant that
alters character and perception ~ Meth.
The neighborhood was on a roller coaster
ride that seemed as if it would never end.
Until one day, a soldier was born.
The make up of power and she wore pink.
The color for angels because an angel Susan
York became here on earth.
A woman on a mission to take back what
was wrongfully taken away ~ her community.
Granted, where some things are gained, other
things by chance may suffer loss.
While the one that went through those dark
days and sleepless nights with her ~ her
mate of 28 years moved on and a salary
was sacrificed, she still has reason to smile.
And her heart breathes like a good song because
what most would not desire to tackle or choose
to turn away from and pretend to not see, she faces
headstrong no holds barred with a team and they
move Nationally.

CHOICES

Seems like every second through out each and every day, there are choices to be made that will pave our way
Will I choose the one that will keep me on the path, or will I take the one that wants to lead me to my wrath
Sometimes I am weak, all I want to do is hide, when in the stillness of my heart, I feel you standing by my side
Why the internal fight that goes on each and every day, and what is this conversation in my heart trying to say
How will I have the power to make the right choice, how will I know when to listen to that quiet inner voice
Can I trust myself to know that righteous is where I want to stand, can I trust myself enough to know when I will feel your hand
Will you ever leave me, when I choose the wrong way, or will you be steadfast in all that you say
I awake each morning striving to get it right, having hope in each passing moment when all seems so very trite
Life is a journey we are all on different roads, and sometimes our journey can bare such heavy loads
Making the choice to reach out I shall make, knowing this will keep me from falling into the bottomless lake
CHOICES- I want to make the right one, CHOICES it is a battle that can be won! CHOICES, the bad ones can be un-done!
Choose wisely
